Obviously there are outliers for this as well, and I've given myself general IMDb ratings thresholds for my impressions on how good a movie would be before watching - 8+: all-time great 7.5-8: very good, possibly all-time great 6.5-7: good, possibly very good 6-6.5: okay, possibly good 5.5-6: meh, maybe good (I must have a specific reason for watching this movie) 5.5 and below: will not watch (again, unless I have a very good reason).Īm I the only one who feels this way? I may feel this way because other than the director, writers, or actors in a movie, ratings are the primary method for me to choose which movies I will watch and which I will not.
